Derby’s police station will be expanding. The additional space comes in the form of old Fire Station 81 at 128 W. Market and just south of the police station. The space will be used for police evidence processing and storage, training and vehicle storage when fire staff and equipment is moved to their new station in about six months.

City Manager Kathy Sexton explained the plan at the July 19 meeting of the Derby Planning Commission as part of her presentation on the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
