Topeka Municipal Court will hold its third annual Clean Slate Day to assist Topekans with issues like arrest warrants, payment plans and free legal advice. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, city of Topeka spokeswoman Molly Hadfield said. The event will take place at the Topeka Performing Arts Center located at 214 S.E. 8th Ave. The event is not an attempt to arrest citizens, but rather give them assistance on various topics, according to a flyer from the city. Neosho County Commissioners approved a five-year plan for solid waste at a 15-minute meeting Thursday evening. No one made comments during the public hearing portion of the meeting on the plan prepared by committee at the end of June. The five-year plan will be revewed annually in May. Neosho County owns and operates a drop-off station and landfill east of Erie for municipal solid waste and construction and demolition.
