Reno Commission agrees to fund new entrepreneur post, but cuts TECH funding

While supporting the creation of a new entrepreneur-focused position at the Quest Center, the Reno County Commission on Tuesday decided to take a bite out of funding for TECH and eliminate all funding for the Welcome Channel.

The commissioners agreed to grant budget increases in whole or in part for seven outside agencies that receive some county funding, but declined hikes sought by two others.

Three other agencies received full funding requests that were unchanged from 2019.
Much of Tuesday’s discussion centered on budgets for TECH and the Quest Center.
