Labette County commissioners on Monday discussed setting up an agreement with commissioners in Craig County, Oklahoma, for sharing costs on bridge maintenance and inspections on Nation Road. While the bridge does not require replacement now, the Federal Highway Administration requires governing bodies in state border counties to have agreements on file related to the maintenance and inspection of bridges on state lines. The bridge that brought the issue forward is on Nation Road just east of Jackson Road, which is four miles south of Edna on the Oklahoma-Kansas state line.
