Some changes have been made to a proposed improvement project at the Fort Scott Municipal Airport.

The Fort Scott City Commission on Tuesday approved measures that will revise the layout plan for the airport as well as an environmental assessment for a project that would extend and widen the current airport runway.

The runway is currently 4,400 feet by 75 feet. The city had planned to expand the runway to 6,100 feet by 100 feet. The change would add 1,100 feet to the runway length, making it 5,500 feet by 100 feet.
