Junction City residents wishing to live in tiny homes will be required to reside in recreational vehicle or mobile home parks.
Officials discussed bulk regulations in residential zoning districts during Tuesday night’s city commissioners meeting. Troy Livingston — the director of the city’s Planning and Zoning Department — said planning and zoning staff have discussed tiny homes frequently over the past year due to their growing popularity. The city’s current zoning regulations do not address those types of structures, but the state classifies them as RVs because they are on a chassis.
“The (vehicle identification number) even starts with an RV,” Livingston said.
