The Wichita City Council approved on Tuesday projects that will mean growth at Col. James Jabara Airport and at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.

Among the items unanimously approved as part of the council’s consent agenda was an expanded lease agreement for Midwest Corporate Aviation at Jabara that will give the company the land needed to build two new 18,000-square-foot hangars at the northeast Wichita airport.

The estimated $2.8 million cost for construction of the new facilities will be privately financed.

Also approved Tuesday was an agreement with NAI Martens as a real estate broker partner to help market available land and buildings at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport.

The firm was selected from a group of six brokerage firms that responded to a request for proposal last fall.

The Wichita City Council also acts as the Wichita Airport Authority.
