The Lenexa City Council unanimously approved a tax-increment financing (TIF) district development plan and the sale land as part of previously approved plans for a new restaurant, retail and office buildings project in City Center being developed by Copaken Brooks Commercial Real Estate.

At its meeting last week, the council approved the sale of nearly 4.5 acres on the southwest corner of Renner Boulevard and 87th Street Parkway, known as “restaurant row,” to AC City Center Lenexa LLC for an estimated $1.04 million. AC City Center Lenexa and City Center Lenexa LLC are related entities both connected with Copaken Brooks for the project, according to council documents.

The council also approved a TIF district development plan for construction of a two-story office building, surface parking and related infrastructure on roughly 2.6 acres west of Renner and north of 89th Street. A required public hearing on the proposed TIF district was held; no one from the public spoke.
