The Special Olympics announces landmarks around the world, including Wichita’s own Keeper of the Plains, will turn red in a global display of unity. The Keeper will light up July 20 as part of the Special Olympics 50th anniversary celebration.

In all, more than 70 places around the world join Wichita for the celebration. Other participating locations include nations and major cities. The list includes the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, South Africa, China and Chicago.
