Good things come to those who wait.

That is the hope of the Lindsborg Dog Park Committee, whose members are pushing to raise funds for the construction of a dog park for the city’s residents and visitors to use.

A dog rodeo will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. July 22 at the dog park site, next to the Lindsborg Recycling Center at the intersection of East McPherson and South Kansas streets.

The event, which is open to the public and dogs on leashes, will feature dog agility demonstrations, a hot dog supper and the opportunity to buy dog-related items in support of the planned park.

Lindsborg donated the land on which the dog park will be built. After soliciting suggestions for possible names for the new dog park from the public, “Scentral Bark” was the winner.

Lindsborg Mayor Becky Anderson, who is a member of the Lindsborg Dog Park Committee, praised the efforts of her fellow volunteers.

“This is a great group of people,” Anderson said.
