A plan to place a dog park near the Clay County Animal Rescue and Education Center received a letter of support from the Clay Center city council last night.
Officials with CCARE asked for the endorsement in order to apply for a grant that would be available to dog owners who want to walk their dogs. The project would be funded entirely by grant funds and no city money will be involved.
Officials said the park would not be used by dogs being held at the Center’s facility even though it is on property owned by the Center.
