An official ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday evening at Augusta’s brand new dog park, located in the Meadowview Acres area, west of Garvin Park.
The new facility features an area for large dogs and an area for small dogs. The entire park is surrounded by coated chain link fencing, features benches, established shade trees and water fountains for dogs and people.
Augusta Mayor Mike Rawlings was absent but sent a special canine representative to help deliver the his message. Terri Rawlings, the mayor’s wife, also assisted.
“On behalf of the Augusta City Council I would like to welcome you all to the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for our brand new Dog Park Facility. In 2016, the City Council embarked on an initiative to overhaul our great community and make Augusta a more attractive, inviting, and exciting place to live and raise a family (including the furry ones).
