The process for appointing people to the Leavenworth County Port Authority Board of Directors soon could change.
When they met Tuesday, Leavenworth County commissioners reviewed a proposed amendment to an agreement that established the Port Authority.
Currently, members are appointed to the economic development organization’s board with approval from the County Commission as well as the Leavenworth City Commission. But the amendment to the agreement would give the County Commission the sole authority to appoint people to the Port Authority.
