Leavenworth city commissioners have taken additional steps toward implementing fees to generate money for maintenance of the city’s stormwater system.
During a special meeting Tuesday, commissioners reached a consensus to advance two ordinances related to the stormwater management program. The ordinances will be brought back to commissioners next week for a final vote.
City Manager Paul Kramer said the first ordinance establishes the program. Kramer said the ordinance lays out the program and the rules and regulations that govern it.
The second ordinance amends the city’s schedule of fees to include the new service fees for the stormwater management program.
