About 2,000 electricity customer in Arkansas, including in downtown, were without power starting 1:45 p.m. Monday, according to Westar Energy.
The problem is believed to be at the Paris Park Substation and was affecting a larger portion of the west half of Ark City.
Businesses were closing doors to customers, and traffic lights were not working.
