The Reno County Commission Tuesday formally approved an agreement with a Wichita engineering firm to identify options and costs for reducing road flooding from the Little Arkansas River on a route into Buhler.

The board also OK’d the creation of a new county “Food Policy Advisory Board” and the appointment of its inaugural members, set dates to canvass of votes from the Aug. 6 primary and Nov. 5 general election for 2019 city/school board elections, and scheduled its 2020 Budget public hearing.

– Under the $26,709 contract with WSP, the company will examine the frequency of flooding on two roads – 85th Avenue west of Buhler and Buhler Road southwest of town – and likely costs to impact flooding for each.
