Within the first 24 hours of nearly 500 electric scooters rolling out in downtown Wichita, people took about 2,000 rides.

In the last two days almost 3,000 people downloaded the Spin app,which you need in order to ride one of the city’s new scooters. In just a couple steps, people can unlock the scooters and begin to ride, making new means of transportation convenient and user-friendly.

Riders say there are a a few regulations they’d like the city to reconsider. Among those is the rule that you can’t ride the scooters on sidewalks.

Zagster provided the first few hundred scooters available in downtown Wichita. Two other companies will bring scooters to the city in the near future. Eventually, this means there will be more than 1,000 electric scooters available for rent throughout the city
