Thirty-three Kansas counties part of latest federal disaster declaration

Fifteen more Kansas counties are on the growing list eligible for federal emergency disaster assistance due to a series of tornadoes, officials said Saturday.

Gov. Laura Kelly said the state’s emergency management division was notified the federal declaration, endorsed by the administration of President Donald Trump, was broadened to include 33 of the state’s 105 counties. The latest adjustments reflected damage caused by tornadoes, but more counties could be added to the list.
