The Reno County Commission voted Tuesday to grant a Medora-area manufacturer a partial tax abatement on a nearly $1 million expansion at its plant that will add new office space and a projected 10 new jobs.
Ada Enterprises, doing business as Wifco Steel, had sought a 100 percent, 10-year abatement of property taxes for the planned $845,000 project.
The deal approved by the commission – a 75 percent reduction for 10 years – was a compromise of its members, who were split on whether to grant the full request or declining property tax break.
The company plans to build new stand-alone offices and a product showroom, then convert space in the plant now taken up by offices into a new production area.
