As a result of the March 12 special election city of McPherson officials drafted and reviewed various ordinances to allow Sunday liquor sales within city limits. According to the commission “The combined effect of these ordinances changes the allowance for Sunday Liquor Sales from Noon to 8 p.m. to include allowances for the following consumption licenses: CMB Licenses (Beer 3.2 percent alcohol content and below), General Retail Enhanced CMB (Beer under 6 percent in alcohol in content), Limited Retail Enhance CMB (Beer under 6 percent in alcohol in content), Retail Alcoholic Beverage Licenses, and Special Event Permits. If the respective ordinances are passed, we anticipate publication of all ordinances on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Upon publication, all ordinances go into effect. This would make CMB Sales and Alcoholic Retail Sales License Holders eligible for Sunday sales on March 31, 2019. Sale of Enhanced CMB on Sundays could begin on April 7, 2019, after enhanced CMB sales takes effect on April 1, 2019.”
