Council OK’s low-cost burial for cremations to extend use of cemetery

In an effort to extend the life of Greenwood Cemetery, the Clay Center Council approved buying 48 columbariums for $11,095.

The council approved the bid from Wilbert Memorials, out of Parsons, over a local bid of $12,905 from Mastercarved Memorials. The stone structures provide an inexpensive place for people to bury urns with cremated remains and each one of them can hold up to four urns.
