The Emporia City Commission continued its ongoing land bank discussion during a study session Wednesday morning. City Attorney Christina Montgomery presented commissioners with a draft ordinance for the land bank. She said the Community Housing Board had expressed willingness to serve as an advisory board for the land bank. If created, the land bank would take properties that had been abandoned, foreclosed upon or that were otherwise distressed or underutilized with the intent of returning them to productive use and alleviate problems caused by having such properties in the city.
