The Hutchinson City Council approved letters of support for three projects to seek low-income tax credits in a special session on Tuesday.
The first was for Interfaith Housing Services to renovate the shuttered 1920-St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, 500 West 20th Avenue, into low-income apartments. The second project was for Disability Support of the Great Plains to construct 20 units at 2319 North Waldron Street. President and CEO Richard Staab said the project would be similar to an 18-unit housing complex the organization is building in McPherson. The third project was for Commerce Gardens to expand its current space on East 11th Avenue. The next phase — phase two — will include 48-units across four buildings with two and three bedroom units.
