“Community minded, organizationally focused and (an) engaging leader” are among the qualities sought for the next Winfield city manager, according to a job ad posted last week. Previous city manager searches called for candidates to have a master’s degree, but commissioners decided to open the search to people with a bachelor’s degree and extensive government experience in order to have a wider pool of candidates.
“(We) just felt that experience was a large factor, too. While we kind of expect most good candidates to have a degree, we didn’t want to exclude someone with quality experience,” Mayor Greg Thompson said via text message.
