A $3.1 million federal grant to improve a one-mile stretch of South Metcalf Road in Louisburg is now in hand.

Rob Roberts told fellow Miami County commissioners at their Wednesday, Oct. 24, study session that Mid-America Regional Council, the grant’s administrator, approved the grant the day before on Oct. 23.

“Two years ago, I told Mr. (J.R.) McMahon I didn’t want to sit through another one of these (grant selections) without a Miami County project on the table,” said Roberts, who is a vice-chair of MARC’s board of directors. “I am happy to report that the (Metcalf 2.0) grant was approved for $3.1 million.”
