Bradburn Wrecking Co., Wichita, has been awarded the contract to demolish Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Members of the Wichita City Council voted Tuesday to accept Bradburn’s bid of $178,555.44 to tear down the city’s 84-year-old ballpark. H. Excavating earlier this month submitted a cheaper bid (about $146,000) for the work, but that bid was left off a final list of bidders on the city’s website.
A start date isn’t set, but Darren Bradburn said work will begin in the next few days once utilities are cut to the stadium.
