The second phase of the Osawatomie sidewalk project was moving at a steady pace last week, much to the delight of some residents who used Facebook posts to express those sentiments and display photos of the work.

Kansas Heavy Construction workers spent the week installing sidewalks on the north side of Main Street, starting at Seventh Street and working west. By Thursday, Oct. 4, crews had reached the John Brown Memorial Park entrance.

Residents weren’t the only ones heralding the progress. City officials were pleased to be moving forward, after red tape that had tied up the project for months was untangled in September.
