Hoisington residents were told to stay alert this week after a rattlesnake was seen in the city. Hoisington Police Chief Jay Bachar has lived in Hoisington for 27 years and said this type of sighting is not normal. He said that the reported encounter came from a concerned mom. But before authorities could get involved, the family took matters into their own hands. “She goes, ‘Well, I have it.’ And she goes, ‘My husband had already cut the head off of it,’” Bachar said.
