Description
Under general policy guidance from the Mayor and City Council, the City Administrator plans, organizes, integrates, fiscally controls, directs, reviews and evaluates the activities, operations, programs and services of the City of Valley Center. Serves as the administrator for the City, responsible for carrying out the policies and programs determined by the elected City Council. With 50+ full-time employees and a yearly budget over $19 million this individual ensures development and execution of budget; ensures City government operations and functions effectively serve the needs of Valley Center residents, while complying with applicable laws and regulations; and performs related duties as assigned by the City Council.

Education and Experience
The ideal applicant holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration or related field, and a minimum of five years of municipal management experience. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills, municipal finance experience, municipal utilities and outstanding public relations skills. This community-focused leader will promote economic development initiatives, transparency in government and positive intergovernmental relations.
A generous benefits package will be offered. Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications. $105,000.00-$145,000.00
