The age to purchase tobacco in Sabetha City limits has been raised to 21. This comes following a unanimous vote at the Sabetha City Commission meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, July 22.

Mayor Doug Clark, along with Commissioners Nick Aberle, Norm Schmitt, Maridel Wittmer and Julie Burenheide all voted in favor of raising the age to 21 after learning that the City of Topeka was successful in passing a similar ordinance just last month.

Others present for the meeting were City Administrator Doug Allen, Assistant City Administrator Bill Shroyer and guest Bob Ruddick.
