‘She’s my hero’: Silver Lake city council president remembered for dedication to job, city

The Silver Lake city council president is being remembered for her dedication to her job as well as being the “epitome of a team player,” according to Silver Lake Mayor Mack Smith.

Nancy Bryant, 67, died June 29 of cancer.

Family and friends gathered 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church for a memorial service.

Bryant, who served as a Silver Lake councilwoman for 20 years, worked in public service for several years, said Suzette Smith, a friend of Bryant.
