For the last year, the Eureka community has been busy moving forward since it was devastated by a tornado for the second time in two years. It was the evening of Tuesday, June 26, 2018 when an EF3 tornado traveled from the southwest corner of town, moving northeast at 152 mph, leaving many damaged homes, businesses and Eureka Junior Senior High School in its path. The storm grew quickly in intensity and left almost as quickly as it began. Over 150 properties were damaged, with over a dozen that were total losses. There were eight injuries reported, one critical.
