After the Reno County Commission heard a report Tuesday, the board directed staff to pursue combining sewer treatment systems at Yoder and HABIT, the former air base west of Yoder that houses businesses.
That, despite the estimated $1.8 million price tag — at least $250,000 higher than just making necessary changes at each site — came on the belief doing so would be cheaper in the long run.
Public Works Director Dave McComb offered no timeline when he’ll bring the issues back to the commission, though the county is under some pressure from state health officials to improve the facilities.
