Cowley County Commissioners approved including generics in their list of subsidized noxious weed killers at their Tuesday night meeting.
County residents asked the board to reconsider the makeup of the list of approved chemicals so that they might be eligible for the 25 percent reimbursement offered by the county, now only for name brand products.
The board directed Eric Neal, the new noxious weed coordinator, to seek bids on generics to be included in the list. The state as well as the county has to approve the list.
