Garden City’s City Clerk Celyn Hurtado recently received the 2019 Mildred Vance City Clerk/Finance Officer of the Year award for the State of Kansas during the Kansas City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association (CCMFOA) conference held in Manhattan from March 13-15.
The Mildred Vance Clerk/Finance Officer of the Year award is presented each year to a City Clerk or Finance Officer who has made significant contributions to the State Association, the profession, and their city.
“Celyn delivers excellent customer service to our constituents and to our City Commissioners every day,” said City Manager Matt Allen. “This is the core value of our organization, and she models the behavior for the rest of us.”
Hurtado began her career in 2000 in municipal government by holding positions in Human Resources and the City Manager’s office before being named City Clerk in 2012.
