Taxpayers can expect a new look to their 2019 property valuation notices this year.
The Reno County Appraiser’s office will mail over 35,000 value notices to taxpayers on March 1.
The new notices are meant to provide more information and be easier to read, said Reno County Appraiser Brad Wright. The appraised values will now read left to right, with the prior year value listed on the left and the current value on the right. At the bottom of the front page, there will be a table with the assessment percentages for the different property types, as well as the PVD website with a guide to the appeals process.
The back will still contain the informal appeal form, but the parcel number, property address, quick reference number and the owner’s name will all be pre-filled for the convenience of both the taxpayer and the Appraiser’s Office staff. The back of the form will also contain some rules for the informal appeal process.
