Four Sedgwick County organizations have been awarded grants to support public health and safety programs, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced today. City of Wichita Police Department will receive $224,850 to purchase various technology and equipment upgrades.
Episcopal Social Services will receive $63,771 to support mental health services.
StepStone will receive $39,725 to support training for trauma-informed response to crime victims for law enforcement officers.
Via Christi Hospitals of Wichita will receive $173,991 to support programs for sexual assault victims.
“Providing the best public safety services and victim support requires a dedicated staff of local officials,” Schmidt said. “These grants will help advance local priorities for improving public safety.”
