Miami County commissioners voted 5-0 to purchase a dozen Microsoft Surface Pro 6 tablets from Staples for $17,726.04 at their meeting Wednesday, Feb. 6. The tablets will allow a migration to paperless agenda packets, County Administrator Shane Krull told commissioners at their study session earlier that day. The tablets will allow commissioners to access the budget and other documents for review, whether they are in the building or not.

In addition to convenience, other advantages were the tablets would facilitate the work of county staff, and they should save the county money in paper costs.
