One of the projects on Clay Center Action Network (CCAN)’s list from the beginning is a mural on the side of the Wardcraft Home Store at 531 Court St. The organization is requesting suggestions from the community about what they would like to see on it, what might best represent Clay Center. The mural will be on the bottom half of the building leaving the brick exposed on the second floor. The mural area will need to be ‘skimmed’ to provide a flat surface to work on.
The goal is to have the skimming completed by mid-March in order for Tracy Lebo to have time to sketch an outline of the design on the wall before Serve Saturday. Then, on Serve Saturday, a group of volunteers can ‘paint-by-number’ to fill in the design. Later, Tracy will complete the shading and provide for final details.
