The superintendent of El Dorado Public Schools will work her last day with the district on June 30, 2019.

The USD 490 Board of Education announced the retirement of Sue Givens after 12 years with the district.

She was chosen as the Kansas Superintendent of the Year in 2016 and has earned numerous awards during her career, according to USD 290’s website.

A search process was conducted to find a replacement for Givens. The BOE selected and interviewed five finalists, before choosing Teresa Tosh as the new superintendent.

Tosh comes from Haysville Public Schools, where she served as Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, overseeing curriculum, instruction and professional development.
