Marysville Chamber of Commerce is preparing to propose a new long-term planning effort for the city, starting with a set of studies done through Kansas State University.
“I’m excited about the direction we’re moving and even more excited about developing a partnership with the city,” Chamber director Jennifer Duffy said. She plans to present the proposal to the council at its Nov. 12 meeting.
“My hope is the city will back this,” she said.
The effort will require a $50,000 commitment by the city starting in 2019, which Duffy said would encompass several studies, including a city housing inventory, a set of site planning concepts for the town’s main streets and urban design strategies to attract business and industry. The funding could come from the city’s industrial fund, she said.
