A local economic development committee presented its first low-interest loan to a business Monday.
Grow Neosho County presented a $45,000 low-interest loan to Consignment Affordable Style/Trend & Main, the first loan by the organization.
Grow Neosho County is a nonprofit partnership with the NetWork Kansas E-Community program. The E stands for entrepreneur, said Chanute Regional Development Authority Director Matthew Godinez.
The group provides loans funded through the sale of tax credits. The loans are meant to assist small business owners or start-ups in Neosho County.
Grow Neosho County has representatives from the cities of Erie and Chanute, Chanute Chamber of Commerce & Office of Tourism, Main Street Chanute, Community National Bank, Home Savings Bank, Bank of Commerce, Farm Bureau, Edward Jones, Jarred Gilmore & Phillips, Cleaver Farm & Home, and the CRDA.
