Archer attended the council meeting to answer any questions about the properties he bought. He said he didn’t plan to move alpacas to any of the lots.
George Davis of Chetopa had asked about prohibiting farm animals in certain areas through zoning, and Shane Adamson, city attorney, said zoning could be accomplished by a simple ordinance. He was gathering examples from other cities.
Other residents, however, expressed their concerns with prohibiting farm animals, and Brenda Carter questioned if animals presently being kept within the zoned area would be grandfathered.
