The developers of a tiny homes project in southeast Wichita plan to have a model home up this fall, and want the community to come out and see it.
The development is planned near 143rd and East Harry, and the developers have faced opposition from neighbors.
“We’re using every inch of the houses we’ve got, so very compact but still you can see it looks like a lot of room,” says Abby Nelson, co-founder of microMansions, the company behind the project.
The founders of microMANSIONS plan to have a model up this fall, and hope to start the development next spring.
“We’ve already had quite a few people in the community who have supported it and signed up and expressed interest,” says microMansions co-founder Brady Sherman.
Nelson says they’ve received about 50 emails from people wanting to secure a lot in the planned development.
Neighbors say they aren’t done fighting. They’ve put up signs saying “Protect your property value, stop tiny homes.”
