A new face has been hired as the city administrator in Columbus.
Daniela Rivas, of Park City, Kansas, will officially begin in the position Oct. 15. She will serve as the chief administrative officer, budget and financial officer, as well as handle the day-to-day operations of the city.
“Ms. Rivas will be a great addition to our team,” Mayor Grant Spieth said in a news release. “She has a proven financial background and has been engaged in municipal administration for over five years. The city of Columbus is looking forward to a long and rewarding relationship with Ms. Rivas.”
Rivas is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master of public administration in public finance and city/county management. She also graduated from the Kansas Certified Public Manager program at the University of Kansas.
She currently serves as the director of finance in Park City, a suburb of Wichita, a position she’s held for three years. Overall, she has a decade of public sector work experience.
