It has taken some time but the upgrades to Eisenhower Park in Dodge City have picked back up again and are set to be completed by the end of the year.
The project of renovations started in June 2017 with funding coming from different local grants and organizations.
A fixture in downtown Dodge City for decades, Eisenhower Park, located at Gunsmoke Street and 1st Avenue, has been being host to several events including Movies in the Park during Dodge City Days.
“We are so excited about the progress being made in Eisenhower Park,” Main Street Dodge City coordinator Krissy Lampe said. “Earlier this year, city staff removed the light poles and trees. Wayne Cook Construction replaced the support posts on the Gazebo, as the original posts were in poor condition.”
The project hit some delays since it began but is back on track.
