The town of Clearwater put together a parade all to honor one woman.

Hazel Dalbom turned 100 years old on Thursday.

Event organizers say Hazel has given back to her community for decades – as a teacher and school board member.

Once word spread that there was going to be a celebration in her honor, it grew into a city-wide event.

“I was very proud and emotion that we’re able to live in a community that was able to this for someone so special,” said organizer Risse Zimmerman.

Hazel got to ride on a cart for the entire parade. She was escorted by the city’s fire trucks.

Students from the local schools came out to wave and play music for her. Even the mayor showed up.
