Storms brought more than 5 inches of rain to the Scott City area Tuesday, causing flooding throughout the town.

By 6:10 p.m., reports from the National Weather Center in Dodge City estimated 5.5 inches of rain in parts of Scott City. Records Clerk and head dispatcher Barry Switzer said there had been flooding reported in several locations around town, including damage to residents’ basements. He said no residents had been injured due to the flooding.
