Butler Electric Cooperative (Butler EC) has taken its first steps in providing high-speed internet to their membership and communities they serve. Tower construction is currently in progress located at 16502 SW 140th, Rose Hill. Butler EC announced the launch of their internet company, Velocity, at their 80th Annual Membership Meeting in March. Butler EC anticipates the first services will be available in the Fall of 2018 with a ribbon cutting slated for this summer.
Velocity will offer reliable, high speed Internet with prices starting at $64.95 for 25 Mbs. “We are proud to provide a service that will have a positive impact on the communities we serve,” said CEO Dale Short. “Our infrastructure provides the framework to close the digital divide that rural America is experiencing.“
