Cowley County commissioners on Tuesday approved a four-year contract for Cowley County Administrator Lucas Goff …

Goff said his previous contract was for two years, but he requested this one be for four years because “I didn’t want to go anywhere. I think a lot of good things can be done. Four years is security for the board and for me.”

The four-year contract does not include a pay increase but has some minor changes to it, Goff said.

He was hired in January 2017, replacing former administrator Jeremy Willmoth, who is now city manager of Winfield.

Commissioner Wayne Wilt said Goff is doing a great job.

“We wanted him not to worry about losing his job, to make sure he could get things going,” Wilt said. “We gave him the same amount of time as an elected official.”
